Is there a connection between the way we think about and handle our money and the way we were brought up? Duh.
Do any of the following scenarios describe something you have experienced:
- The idea of 'charging' your friends or family for a service that you would pay for if you needed it is really confusing (and generally you do or give freely to those you know) and you feel a little resentful when they don't voluntarily pay you something
- Whenever you seem to be getting ahead in life you, end up doing something to sabotage the success. Somehow it just doesn't seem right that you should be successful and wealthy
- You live from hand to mouth
- You rely on a credit card to get you through the month
- You have maxed out a credit card more than once in your life
- Money creates a lot of anxiety in your life– both having it and not having it
- You really want to have your own business, be your own boss, work your own hours, but you are afraid to leave your long-time job even though it is creating many health issues for you
- You are not really sure how much money you have in your bank account at any given time– it's possible that the last cheque you wrote will 'bounce'
- Paying bills is a less than joyful experience
- The thought of Christmas looming on the horizon ties your tummy in knots
