For those of you who followed my comments over a 15-day fast, you will know that it was not the most pleasant experience in the world.
I DID have sinus drainage that I am hopeful marks the end of any future hassles with sinus infections (as long as I continue to be kind to myself where my nutritional and other needs are concerned).
I DID lose quite a lot of toxins that translated into release of some extra pounds, and with daily walks and rebounding, I am continuing to firm up and lose.
My skin is nice and soft. I can sleep on my back now without feeling like I might suffocate (a problem I have wrestled with for ages). I am falling asleep quickly and sleeping well.
I DO feel more balanced and the old, free-floating anxiety has disappeared.
But this took place over FIFTEEN long days and nights of taking in nothing but sips of water as needed. I had a crappy taste in my mouth that went along with my coated tongue (the sinus issues) and everything– my clean bedding, my husband, my toothbrush– seemed to smell the same unpleasant smell.
Next year I am going to do what I know will achieve similar results and will be much more pleasant and refreshing during the process…. and won't take as long, either.
And, lucky for you, you are able to take part in it already! Read this:
Once in a while, everybody needs to do a complete
house-cleaning, and the same is true for the body.
Unless you live in the middle of the jungle, you can't avoid
the consequences of modern life, even if you eat well and
exercise regularly, and even if you're a committed
raw-foodist.
Once in a while, we all need to detox (or "cleanse").
For this reason, I recommend to everybody to incorporate
some "detox diets" as part of your life.
