168-Hour FAST - Day 6

It is 4:16pm and I have not been downstairs before now.

The dyspepsia or biliousness or nausea or whatever you want to call it, left yesterday sometime, but I still feel intense lethargy.  But no joint pains and a couple of sore places have healed up, so that's pretty amazing– because they are no longer sore or weeping or tender to the touch, they are not "inflammations" and therefore, the inflammation in my body has gone down, which means I am probably getting more alkaline.  Yay!

I'm still feeling quite gas-y… belching sometimes, etc.

Interesting fact: when the body is deprived of food, it will digest 'refuse' such as excess fat, tumors, excrescences, cysts, etc. first and when all out of that it might get to the muscle tissue.  The vital organs are wwwwwwwaaaaaaaayyyyy down the line for nourishment, and usually that doesn't happen– the person dies before the body gets to that point…. and not after 5 days of fasting or 15 days of fasting or even 68 days of fasting…. usually not until about 100+ days of an actual fast. (I'm not talking about 'starvation' here, like what we see on TV re gaunt souls in famine lands where their abstinence from nourishment is not voluntary and they are wracked with worries and fears and a background of malnutrition– fasting is a "voluntary" abstaining from food, taking in only sips of water as required and a restful and peaceful environment with not much physical exertion is optimal.)  My body still has a goodly amount of fat to digest, about 50# worth at least, which could mean that I might be on this fast for another 17 days before it kicks into absorbing the other 'refuse' food.

I plan to break the fast tomorrow, but will see how I feel.  It is worth it to go for a little longer if it means I experience a greater feeling of health.  I have had quite a few issues with digestion and anxiety around it over the past few years…. it would be nice to resolve that with a fast.  Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 fasts.  I'm just not sure how many pockets of time I can borrow from my family where I do little but sleep, read, and yell down for someone to bring me up a drink of water.  I make one trip down each day to do this and to read my email (hint).

Some signs that mean it is time to break the fast: returning hunger pangs (haven't felt those yet) and a nice clear tongue with sweet breath (haven't hit that yet).

Until tomorrow, Arrivederci, baby!
